Successful ATA Target Marathon!

Many thanks to the parents, coaches, members, and especially the ATA shooters that came out and braved the heat to shoot in the Singles Marathon to benefit the 4-H members travelling to Sparta.  Special Thanks to Coach David Adams for cooking a delicious barbecue chicken lunch. The shoot was a great success!

2009 Fayette SCTP Team

Congratulations to the 2009 Fayette SCTP for a great showing.  Fayette County fielded both a Junior Varsity and Intermediate Team.  Jonathan Warren won 2nd place in the Sub-Junior Division for the Georgia Skeet Shooting Association! Jonathan also shot 25 straight for the first time during his second round.

The Fayette 4-H Junior Trap and Skeet Team took 2nd place in the Georgia 4-H State Trap and Skeet meet.  Congratulations Team!  Individual award recipients were Jonathan Warren and Christian Salvanera.

Fayette AIM Team Finishes First at the State GATA Trap Shoot on May 2nd

Current and former Fayette 4-H Shotgun Trap team members competed in the first annual AIM (academic, integrity, marksmanship) program on Saturday May 2nd at South River Gun club near Covington Georgia. The squad members were Alex Hendrix, Remington Bennett, Cory Nordlund, Jonathan Lancaster, and John Terbeek. After the first 100 targets of the competition, the squad was tied with the club from Harris county. After a "half-time" talk from coach Ray Schmeck, the team focused their attention on each and every target. When the scores were tabulated, the team from Fayette had edged out the team from Harris county by only 1 target.

Individual Awards:
Jonathan Warren, Fayette county's all around good shot, won 2nd place in the Sub-Junior category.

Top collegiate individual honors went to Fayette's Jake Madkiff with a total score of 194. Jake broke 99 out of 100 on his final round.

Jonathan Lancaster, with a total score of 194 out of 200, was in a shootoff "under the lights" against Michael Chambliss from Harris county for the top Junior individual. Jonathan shot his best, but Michael finished one target ahead.

Also, Coach Kevin Kahley had one of his best shoot days ever.
